| Ride Groups: Green, yellow and red (no blue) Ratings - Technical: 3/10 Hills: 3/10 Distance: 18 (Green) 36 (Others do two laps) Starting Time: 7h30 for 8h00 Ride Description: Come and ride the Emperor's Classic race route out near OR Tambo - perfect for beginners and families. The faster groups can just put the hammer down to get their exercise - the faster you go the more technical it becomes. Visitors welcome at the rides at R30 per visitor. Directions: Park in the Emperor's Palace parking lot on the right hand side just after passing under the entrance gates. Look for the JMBC feather. Parking is apparently free if you argue diplomatically - some did get in for free last year. Directions from Johannesburg Take the R24 towards OR Tambo International Airport. At the airport, the road splits - keep to the left lane and follow the R21 East Rand/Boksburg lane. Follow the road until you reach Griffiths Road off-ramp, turn left at the top of the bridge. At the T-junction, turn left into Jones Road. Entrance to Emperors Palace is on your left. Directions from Pretoria Take the R21 towards the OR Tambo International Airport. At the airport, the road splits - keep to the left lane and follow the R21 East Rand/Boksburg lane. Follow the road until you reach Griffiths Road off-ramp, turn left at the top of the bridge. At the T-junction, turn left into Jones Road. Entrance to Emperors Palace is on your left. Directions from Sandton/Northern Areas Take the N3 towards Germiston. At Giloolly’s interchange, take the R24 towards OR Tambo International Airport. At the airport, the road splits - keep to the left lane and follow the R21 East Rand/Boksburg lane. Follow the road until you reach Griffiths Road off-ramp, turn left at the top of the bridge. At the T-junction, turn left into Jones Road. Entrance to Emperors Palace is on your left.
